Dr. Raphael K. Quansah

Dr. Raphael K. Quansah is currently a practicing internal medicine physician in the capacity as an attending hospitalist in Decatur Morgan Hospital since 2015.

He has privileges in Decatur Morgan Hospital and Huntsville Hospital. Dr. Quansah is involved in multiple administrative and leadership roles in the hospitalist department in Decatur Morgan Hospital.

Dr. Quansah received his bachelor’s degree in general science from Andrei Grechko Pre-University Institute, on the Isle of Youth, Cuba. In 2002, he received a degree in Medicine from the Instituto Superior de Ciencias Medicas de Santiago De Cuba, Cuba, graduating with honors.

Dr. Quansah spent the next four years practicing medicine in different capacities and roles in the hospital system of Jamaica.

Dr. Quansah was the founder, CEO and practicing physician at Hopewell Premier Medical Center in Hanover- Jamaica since 2005 until he moved to the United States. This was a private primary care facility where he attended to a diverse population of different ages and medical needs on an outpatient basis.

In 2012, Dr. Quansah moved to the United States and completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Texas Tech University of Health Sciences in El Paso, graduating with honors.
Dr. Quansah served as the Chief Medical Resident in Internal Medicine in his last year of residency.

Dr. Quansah was originally born in Ghana, and currently lives in Madison Alabama. He is married with 4 children and is fluent in Spanish.
